Loie Rawding
Loie Rawding (she / her) is a writer and multimedia artist. She grew up on a working-class island off the coast of Maine, and studied theater and dance in Boston before eventually completing a BA in English in New York where she also worked in small press publishing. She received an MFA in Fiction from the University of Colorado in 2016.
During this time, Loie was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and gave birth to twins. She also served on the editorial board of Timber Journal. Four years later, Loie and her family moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she is a senior Teaching Artist for The Porch Writers Collective and privately mentors artists from across the globe.
Her experimental-hybrid novel, Tight Little Vocal Cords (KERNPUNKT), was a Finalist for the Big Other Book Awards. It was also featured in Entropy’s Best Books of 2020 and one of Lambda Literary’s Most Anticipated Books. Other writing has been internationally featured in SAND (Berlin), 3:AM Magazine, The Critical Flame, The Ekphrastic Review (Toronto), Heavy Feather Review, The Wanderer, and Map Literary, among others.
