Brief Description:
Professional Writers collaborate to lead writing residency programs in Barcelona.
This multidisciplinary course provides writers the chance to expand upon their craft and create works within different genres / disciplines than their own while simultaneously dedicating time to developing and finishing a piece that they have been creating.
Two groups of participants focused on different genres / disciplines will work in conjunction to consciously workshop their respective pieces of writing and develop new skills based on the themes and topics explored in each respective program.
The course culminates with a final showcase of their work in Barcelona where each writer is invited to do an open reading of their work in respected art venues in and throughout the city and surrounding areas. Once the writing residencies are finished, participants are connected with various publishers and other professionals within our network that work within the fields of print editing and publishing.
In addition, there is an optional / elective curated travel abroad experience to follow. This culturally immersive journey is lead by trusted international partners of La M.E.S.A. who travel alongside participants in and throughout other regions of Southern Europe (Spain, Portugal, The Azores, Greece, Italy and Croatia).
This experience includes private guides, language interpreters, a Eurail pass to travel consciously intercontinentally within the European Union as well as ferry tickets as needed.
In addition participants are invited to 3 group dinners in each country prepared by locally renowned chefs, and will experience living in unique and sustainable accommodations.
During these travels students are also encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity in order to cultivate meaningful relationships with other internationally renowned writers and professionals within our network while respectfully and mindfully engaging with local culture both through their own independent journeys and via specially curated experiences provided by la M.E.S.A. and it’s collaborating partners abroad.

Brief Description:
Two professional writers lead the workshops that will fall in conjuction with each other based on the themes and disciplines explored in each respective program.
The commencement of the course begins online giving artists / writers the affordable and convenient opportunity to work with our professionals and fellow participants remotely and receive the support and guidance that they need in order to create with informative inspiration.
The course culminates with a 1-2 week residency in Barcelona where participants work is showcased and participants have the opportunity to receive one final polish of their work via one-on-one in person consultations / private workhops with the professionals leading the program. Simultaneously they will have an opportunity to network internationally while respectfully and mindfully engaging with local culture both through their own independent journeys and specially curated experiences provided by la M.E.S.A. and it’s collaborating partners abroad.
